Academic English for EL through LS CC

My colleague and I truly enjoyed Dr. Soto's presentation.  She successful and meaningfully intregrated three speicifc strategies that support, not only Listening and Speaking, but also Reading and Writing.  We left with the capability to transfere our learning experience to our staff and, relearned how impactful collaboration is when the intent is clear, and the focus is relevant to the needs of the participants present.  Again, great day!

Very useful Presentation

I am definitely excited to bring some of the intentional thinking, speaking, and sharing time back to the math students I work with outside of the classroom. With the new CCSS, its important that my students use the proper Academic Vocabulary when discussing and justifying math solutions on exams. Dr. Soto explained tried and true strategies and how they are important in developing students into 21st century thinkers. I don't have to recreate my lessons, but just allow for intentional time for students to speak to each other and the class appropriately. Great Job!
